Harley Davidson XR12OO Series
- 'Banzai'
Claims Impressive Eighth.

Name: Rhys Boyd
Race Number: 69
Rhys Boyd has been racing motorcycles
since 1986 and enjoyed early success, winning the Honda Hotshots Championship
in his first season of racing. Race victories and championship wins
in the 250cc Production class followed and Rhys earned himself the
tag 'Banzai' through his flying starts and was quickly filling the
trophy cabinet. He went on to perform well in the Sound of Thunder
Championship and the CB500 Cup where he remembers a titanic battle
with 2 times World Superbike Champion, James Toseland. Rhys also had
rides on a VTR 1000 and at the time became the only rider in the UK
to have put this type of bike on the podium. In the late nineties,
Rhys contested at the NorthWest 200 in Ireland and also claimed several
victories in the Honda Hornet Cup Championship. A few lean seasons
followed through a lack of funding and a big crash at Brands Hatch,
but 2005 saw Rhys back racing and with the backing of Pink Express,
competed in the Superstock Cup class. He claimed several podium finishes
and set fastest laps during a tough season, riding the now infamous
'pink bike'. The 2006 season was always going to be a testing time
for all concerned, but with the usual determined mentality, the whole
team stuck to the task at hand and through all the highs and lows
of the year, Rhys battled to the end and finished the season in a
very respectable tied ninth place in the Championship. The 2007 season,
and Rhys concentrated his efforts on sustaining the team's presence
in the paddock. The 2008 Superstock Championship saw Rhys return to
the seat and with no ride last year, 2010 will see a recharged and
determined 'Banzai'.
Rhys has won championships at varying levels of the sport with 90 race wins between 1986 and 2006.

who give their time, effort and enthusiasm for the good of the team.
From the creative input our design team provides to coordinating arrangements
during the course of a race weekend, we have important input from
technicians, hospitality staff and photographers.
